Elme Metall launches new generation laser cutting machine
Elme Metall, a subsidiary of BLRT Grupp, has commissioned a new generation laser. ByStar fiber laser cutting machine has been installed at the company’s service centre in Maardu. The total investment of the project implementation amounted to 1,250,000 euros, of which € 200,000 allocated by the European Regional Development Fund.
The machine tool is used for manufacturing of blanks from sheet, and this category of equipment can be applied quite widely. “Fiber laser cutting machine is used in completely different industries. Our clients are both engineering plants, construction companies, manufacturers of containers and pressure vessels as well as firms engaged in shipbuilding and ship repair,” explained Georgi Grigorjan, Chairman of the Board of Elme Metall.
The advantage of acquiring a new fiber laser is reduced energy consumption and cost saving per unit of output, and there is no need to apply assist gases when cutting metals. As a result, the cutting process will become more resource saving and efficient, enabling to increase manufacturing capacity and improve competitiveness of Elme Metall’s customers.
Elme Metall is engaged in sale of rolled steel and in processing of metal products. Elme Metall today is an international enterprise with about 500 employees and companies in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland and Russia. Well-developed warehouse and production infrastructure, comprising 14 logistics and six service centres with an area of about 300,000 m2, equipped with high-tech equipment, enables to sell products not only in the Baltic countries, but also in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
