Elme Metall, a subsidiary of BLRT Grupp, has seen the construction of a new storage complex in the Free Economic Zone in Klaipeda to a conclusion.
The construction of the region’s largest warehouse facilities intended for storage and distribution of metal products is yet another step in the implementation of the development strategy for the Elme Metall family companies. The technical infrastructure in place fully meets all present-day goods storage requirements, and the internal logistics department shall make sure the goods are ready for shipment at any time selected by the customer. The new storage complex supports handling of a large number of freight vehicles at once.
“The increase in the storage space will give us the possibility to expand the range of the goods we offer and to establish a more favourable environment for the development of retail and small-scale wholesale trade in the area, and, also, to provide our customers with a better level of service, which will strengthen our position in the Lithuanian market. Orders placed in our online shop, can later be received directly from the warehouse or be delivered to an address specified by the customer at the time of order. The state-of-the-art storage complex will ensure continuous, timely and prompt customer service, whereas the close proximity of major road arteries will reduce the delivery period to the customer,” explains Vytautas Jankūnas, Director of Elme Metall Lithuania, UAB.
The next stage in the implementation of the development strategy for the Elme Metall family companies is new rolled metal processing facilities that shall be constructed within the same grounds; these facilities are to become the largest production complex of the kind in the Baltic States. The advantageous geographic location of the production complex is expected to improve the order fulfilment rate both in the Baltics market, and in Scandinavia, Poland, Germany, Holland and other neighbouring regions.
Elme Metall has been operating in the Lithuanian market since 2004. The company sells and processes rolled metal products enjoying its well-earned reputation as the leader in these activity fields in the Baltics and the Kaliningrad Region. Today, Elme Metall is an international company providing employment to over 500 people with branches in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland and Russia. The Elme Metall turnover in 2021 is expected to exceed 200 million euros.
