The service centre of the Elme Metall company in Klaipėda and the Vakarų Baltijos laivų statykla shipyard, which is also part of the BLRT Group, have commenced implementation of the project of building a fishing trawler for a Swedish partner. Currently, metal cutting is already underway, along with production of parts from shipbuilding steel. The vessel being built will be 49.9 metres long and 12.5 metres wide, and the total weight of its hull will be 700 tonnes. Approximately 20 tonnes of rolled aluminium of different nomenclatures will be used to make the ship’s superstructure.
This vessel will have a distinctive feature: it will be able to store catch in RSW tanks with cold seawater, resulting in no loss of quality. The ship will have eight such tanks with a total capacity of 1,300 cubic metres.
The vessel is scheduled for handover to the customer in the second half of 2021.
