Fabrication of structural elements for a patrol vessel that is to be built and partially rigged at the Western Baltija Shipbuilding shipyard (Klaipeda), which is owned by the BLRT Group, has started at the Elme Metall service centre in Klaipeda.
The fabrication of approximately 950 tons of various elements made of shipbuilding steel and sections required for the project will call for thorough process knowledge and extensive efforts from all highly qualified engineers and specialists of the Elme Metall service centre.
The vessel’s hull, 86 m long and 13 m wide, is to be of a classic naval ship structural design. The vessel will be used to patrol the German coast of the Northern and Baltic Seas. The completion of the hull construction is scheduled for the end of November 2021.
